M. K. Painting, Inc. of Wyandotte, Michigan, has been in business since 1997. In January, 2010, M. K. Painting opened its Satellite Site in Hockley, Texas to serve the southern area of the country.
The founder of M. K. Painting, Harry Elmazaj, is the president and sole officer. Harry has been involved in the painting of steel structures since 1992 and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of both the company and field operations.
Harry is assisted in his responsibilities by John Bethell, Superintendent. John's background is from the engineering field where he was an inspector on major water tank rehabilitation projects for 13 years before joining our company in 2003.
The latest addition to M. K. Painting is Joel Cullins, Project Manager, who heads up our new Texas Satellite Site. Joel comes to us with 26 years of diverse experience in NASE water/sewer plant and civil engineering inspections, construction management, underground utility projects as well as coating sales.
With our extremely experienced staff of 10-16 blasters and painters, as well as a certified welder on staff, we specialize in the rehabilitation of water storage facilities.
We have successfully completed over 150 projects in Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Massachusetts, Kentucky, New Jersey, Texas, New Mexico, and of course, our home state of Michigan.
Many of our projects involved lead abatement. Our blasters and painters have been trained in lead abatement and are MIOSHA compliant in certification. We are certified to apply 100% solid coating apoxy or polyurethane.
In addition to the projects we have listed above, on a limited basis, we have been involved in the sand blasting and coating application on other steel structures, including bridges.
